Burglary At Serendipity
Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a burglary at Serendipity Cafe in Bircherley Green during the early hours of Monday morning.

The break-in occurred between 12am and 4am on Monday, 16th May. The offender(s) gained entry to the rear of the property, carried out a search and made off with a safe which contained cash.
DC Neil Lancey is investigating and said: "I believe the offenders would have been in the property for some time, as the safe was attached to a wall. The shop is close to the river and I’d appeal to anyone who may have been moored up there or live close to it to contact me if they saw or heard something. It is also believed the offenders could have left via Bull Plain or Bircherley Green Bus Station and any sightings of suspicious persons or vehicles at those locations could help the police enquiry."
"I would also like to appeal for anyone who may have found the safe since the burglary."
Anyone with information should contact the police non-emergency number on 0845 33 00 222.

Care Centre Decision Attacked
Town Clerk Nina Villa has attacked the closure of Hertford's Urgent Care Centre, claiming that the criteria for judging the centre's success was flawed.
The Town Clerk was part of an evaluation panel that recommended closure in February. The panel also included Town Council leader Linda Radford and Cllr.Dorothy Hone.
Ms.Villa claims that targets set by health bosses were unrealistic but that the panel were given no alternative but to use them.
In a letter to The Hertfodrshire Mercury, she says that she remains absolutely opposed to the closure, despite having no choice other than to agree that the centre did not meet the flawed pre-existing criteria.
