Re: Hertford gasworks

This overdevelopment around Hertford East and Mead Lane is making me despondent and angry in equal measures. Surely we have enough flats by now? Is there no need for actual houses? Each development is getting higher and higher now as they are referencing the neighbouring blocks and adding one floor ...

Re: Simon Balle All through school Ofsted report

To some extent I would agree with Newcomer that the view used to be that if your child was academic you would send them to one of the other two schools. The results for Presdales are consistently good so I can see where that comes from to some extent. I never understood that assertion in regards to ...

Simon Balle All through school Ofsted report

Just came back as outstanding !

That's a fantastic achievement for a school that has seen so many recent changes in becoming an all through school and developing a primary school on site too.

Congratulations to them

Re: Proposed signs "celebrating Richard Hale school" at Hetford East

I cant believe this is a serious application for so many reasons - - this is to go on a listed building?? - a lot of the images are either historically or culturally inappropriate - I am going to presume the work was done by students so wont be too disparaging about the quality of some of the images...

Re: Rush Green McDonalds chaos

The carve-up caused on the roundabout at weekends is unbelievable because of the McDonalds traffic. If you are wanting to go North on the A10 from Hertford town centre you have to approach it in the right hand lane then quickly try and pull over once you have passed the queuing traffic. Otherwise yo...

Re: Restaurant/takeaway ideas

Tapas would be lovely. Or a proper American diner type, more family oriented than Sloppys which is just a sports bar really.

Also a bigger family oriented Mexican. Again, Dirties is more of a bar selling Mexican and not geared up to families.

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment 2016

How ironic that Cllr Michael Freeman said the plans should go ahead to save the site from "languishing in its current 1970s state, reminiscent of a couple of new towns not a million miles away" yet they agree to build something that looks exactly like the waterfront development in Harlow. Its a real...

Re: "Hertford & Ware" Mercury

I don't get it either but I think I've read it in Castlegate surgery or Serendipity. I'm near the town centre if that makes any difference - maybe 4 or 5 minutes walk from Marks and Spencers so relatively central. Its certainly not a publication I would rely on for "whats happening" events being a m...

Re: "Hertford & Ware" Mercury

The only thing I use it for is the Twitter traffic reports. The website is virtually unusable with its pop up adverts and fake surveys. I do find that I miss events sometimes though as there doesn't seem to be anywhere pulling together a "Whats On" section and it used to be good for that in the olde...
