Re: Bircherley Green

I won't attempt to offer a view on the "he said - she said.." that will undoubtedly play out as developer and authority seek to explain their actions and protect their good names. But this is a sorry place to have ended up; the town deprived of a good chunk of its commercial footprint at a time of e...

Re: QEII Hospital Urgent Care Centre opening hours

Thank you Steve. I'm aware of the Commissioners' opinions. And I've offered mine. Not as an expert by any means, but as a cyclist (think baggy commuter rather than Lycra racer) who covers 3000 miles a year in Hertford and London. I remain of the view that anything that serves to remind drivers and c...

Re: Disappearing cycle lanes on North Road

Disagree completely. Along that stretch there is insufficient space for "proper" segregation, and as someone who rides them everyday I do find that drivers try to keep out of them. Not the gold standard but better than nowt. Which as Highwayman says is what we have (temporarily I hope) for now. Woul...

Turned in my season ticket. Saving money hand over fist, not least because I'm an early bird who taps in before 630am.

Re: Oyster coming to Hertford North

I don't think it will be that quick. The consultation on extending Pay as You Go was only launched today.

"No route, no funding, vague costing, essential for the EHDC district plan, delivery by 2024. So that's all good then."

Re: A414 Corridor Consultation

I'd agree. An Inquiry is a dead cert. But there's something like 3 years worth of survey, option design work and consultation (including consideration of alternatives) to be done before even an application could be made for Highway and land acquisition powers. And at that point the County would need...
