Re: House on Millmead way

Blissfully crime free in 2018, expand the search to see where things are not quite so harmonious.

That said Hertford is a very safe and pleasant place to live in all fairness.

Re: New timetable from Hertford North - May 2018

I didn't say it was due to the new trains. What I said was that 40 years on, with the technology improvements that are now available in terms of trains and signalling, how come the best journey time is 25% slower than before? When I travel to work I'd very often like the fastest way in. There may be...

Re: New timetable from Hertford North - May 2018

I beg to differ. The new trains are being touted as something very special and they should be given there's about 40 years in age difference. What folks are complaining about is that the length of their commute has increased by 25%. Think on that. 40 years on and the trains are 25% slower. What used...

Re: The White Horse, Castle St.

A quick Google finds this... Address The Gibraltar Castle. Lower Luton Road. Batford. Harpenden. Hertfordshire. AL5 5AH. Licensee: Anthony Kavanagh. Tel01582 460005 ... ..but the current one is Tim Ayling. Once bitten? Hope he knows what he's letting himself in for, unless he's doing a 'holding' rol...

Re: Fullers Force Closure of The White Horse

Popped in last night as Stefan is quietly selling off his bottled stock. It's true that Fullers have bankrupted him as they did Nigel and Chris before and caused quite a lot of financial harm to others who were able to escape. Stefan had fought long and hard for a rent reduction. What he got instead...

Re: Rotted horse manure for garden?

Try the place just the other side of Hertford Football Club at the end of West Street. Lots of horses there, best manure going. Think they're running a surplus so would probably be happy to accept a donation to a cause.

Re: GOLDINGS (The William Baker Technical School)

Thanks for putting me straight there Joe. Absolutely lamentable given the effort Dave in particular put into the old Forum. A Ryan Air special, how to go out of your way to really piss your customers off. I picked up on this... "The Techie Stuff The old forum was based on ASP/MS Access and ran on a ...

Hi Paul, I'd strongly recommend that you follow the link in the second post by Admin in this section. Here you'll find many articles carefully uploaded by Dave over the years. I've read many of them and certainly recall some that focussed on the lads who chose printing as their future career. This w...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment

This weekend I asked the young till lady if the recent minor refurbishment and the impending arrival of an in store cash machine meant they had decided to stay after all. There was a brief discussion amongst the staff as to what the implication might be and the consensus was that they would be aroun...
