And Thursday's problem is....

... a faulty train at Finsbury Park which meant we were all turfed off. Carriages in next train were freezing (thermostats are broken so heating is either off or full on).

25 minutes late, 5 minutes short of being able to claim compensation.

Re: It's Wednesday so it must mean trouble on the trains

Irrespective of how it is funded, the service provided by First Capital Connect and Network Rail is shambolic.

Re: It's Wednesday so it must mean trouble on the trains

PART funded by the tax payer.. With the current government trying hard to reduce that through increased fare prices and efficiency gains. Network Rail is currently financed by borrowing money. "All debt that NRIF has issued is directly and explicitly backed by a guarantee from the Secretary of Stat...

Re: It's Wednesday so it must mean trouble on the trains

Re: It's Tuesday so it must mean trouble on the trains

The service on this line is appaling. I've had to put in 5 delay repay forms for the past two weeks! That is shocking. 18:11pm for me tonight from Liverpool St and i highly doubt anything will be running out of Moorgate. Believe it or not but there was. The wesbite showed the 1703 to Hertford North...

Re: It's Tuesday so it must mean trouble on the trains

Replacing the rolling stock isnt overly easy due to the requirement to use two different power sources. You state: "FCC put no pressure on Network Rail to provide a decent service to them". Do you know that for fact or are you guessing? The article may be factually correct but it reads like a polic...

Not on the GN route into Moorgate.

Re: It's Tuesday so it must mean trouble on the trains

The chickens have come home to roost. Years of making do with aging rolling stock (37 years old and no new trains planned) and years of neglect on the infrastructure. On top of this there is a franchise system that allows First Capital Connect to make a disgraceful amount of money from the taxpayer...
