Re: Best Indian Restaurant

Its a matter of taste - personally I still favour the Shahenshah but know that others don't like it, Raj is good but small for eating in if a big group, not been to hot house for ages. Not a great fan of Ruby's as I find the sauces a bit too tasteless and runny. The takeaway on Parliament Sq is okay...

Re: Musical Mystery Tour 2017

I can assure Newgirl that Kevin wouldn't have chosen this band for any pm venue if he'd known - there was an issue a few years ago like this and the act were soon replaced. The venue could have intervened if it was deemed inappropriate.

Re: "Hertford & Ware" Mercury

I stopped buying it when I found I could read it cover to cover while waiting in the supermarket queue and then leave it on the counter - for the past few years I've not even bothered doing that as most of the 'news' is out of the area and the rest is chip paper waiting for a good bin. Recently I've...

Re: "Hertford & Ware" Mercury

I think many of the 'stories' that appear on line are click-bait designed to generate traffic to the website to earn money from the advertising so a murder is bound to get plenty of people to the site even if it is out of Herts area - maybe someone with better knowledge of these things could confirm?

Re: Gang Warfare on the streets of Hertford

All kicking off on Facebook today as well - though they were a bit out of order by the looks of things and the parents need to provide some answers for their neighbours in my opinion. I wouldn't go on holiday if I were them

Re: New bridges at Hertford basin

Thanks for posting the drawings Steve, from what I can see it looks like they're eliminating the steps and widening to make the bridges more wheelchair/cycle friendly? Looks a good improvement and I hope they manage it quickly when approved as the recent works on the long bridge across the weir took...

Re: "Hertford & Ware" Mercury

I stopped reading it years ago when I realised that if I picked it up while waiting in a supermarket queue I could read all of the relevant stuff before they were ready to check my goods. The online is nearly as bad with all of the pop ups and I've installed an adblocker to cope with this paper alon...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment 2016

Looks like Waitexit is a done deal and personally although I'm not happy about it going its time to move on. I just hope that the redevelopment is still on course and that, as a town, we can work with the developers to avoid a cheap and nasty makeover based around a multi-storey car park. There are ...
