Re: Three cheers for Mark Prisk
Not sure about bigots and racists but you (Darcy Sarto) used the terms vicious and fascist, and implied that Tories were less than weasels and should not exist.

Re: Recommendation for mobile supplier
I am on O2 (iPhone) and have an unreliable signal round the Watton at Stone By Pass but it is okay through the villages. My OH commutes to Stevenage and he is on Orange (Samsung Galaxy old model) and has the same problem but I would say his is marginally better.

Re: shed disposal/erection
We had two teenagers to destroy the old shed which they loved doing. They were reluctant at first but when we handed them hammers, they went for it. We then took the bits to the dump although you could burn it. We then bought a shed off a company that delivers and erects it. I have to say they were ...

Re: RIP The Blackbirds
Thread resurrection ! I went in on Monday for dinner having never been there before but someone close to me started working in there (so I am declaring my bias early). I was pleasantly surprised. I had a fairly low opinion of this pub before and no idea why as I had never been inside, but it was act...

Re: The Key at Herford North
I went to renew my season ticket at Hertford North yesterday. The assistant at the ticket office on this occasion advised me that I'd need to have it as a paper ticket if I wanted to use it to travel Hertford East and London. I wonder whether GTR will ever provide clear and consistent information o...

Re: Halifax Branch Closing
How annoying. The banks closing their branches causes a big problem for businesses when they need to bank their takings or obtain change. A small shop in Hertford cannot take the time away from their business to drive to Harlow to use their counter services. In addition, I think the Harlow shop is i...

Re: Car Wash
I am interested too. I think the one in Bengeo is meant to be good but when I drove past the queue was making it really difficult to drive along the road as you couldn't see far enough to overtake them (parked cars adding to the visibility issue).
Is there anywhere else?

Re: Hertford North Car Park
What would your solution be?
I did wonder what would happen with the pub closing as the car park there always seemed full. Why don't people park on North Road? There doesn't seem to be any restrictions or have I just missed them?
(I walk to station so it doesn't directly affect me)

Re: Streetlights Mead Lane
Good to see a County Councillor on these pages. Hello Peter! Before I moved to Hertford I was under the district of Roger Beeching who is a lovely man and was really helpful when we were stranded by a village bus timetable change. We should use our councillors more (in a constructive way, not just a...
