Re: Database developer
You could have a Microsoft access front end ? I use Access loads and while it has a place I don't think it is stable/scalebale enough for our business. Before spending money. Have a search for open source crm solutions. Unless you have a special requirement most will suit your needs and be free to ...

Re: Database developer
MySQL or MS-SQL? MS-SQL Browser based? Mobile? Possibly browser based, devs seem keen to point you this way but if a non browser based solution is easier, quicker and cheaper I'd happily go for that option (have a bad experience project managing a browser based application the majority of the probl...

I need to find someone to code the data management and input front ends for a SQL server based database. Anybody local like to quote for the job, there seems to be a healthy number of IT professionals in the locale.

Yes it was the several month pre Barratt phase to which I referred, besides I'm not sure Zog actually ev...

Re: Waitrose rumour
Waitrose director of development, Nigel Keen, said: "It's no secret that we have had a long-standing aspiration to have a new store in the area." Well the police station site was available for a long time, so maybe not that long-standing, planning issues aside. As a card carrying member of the JLP/...

Re: Hertford Primary School
Have personal experience of Abel Smith and Millmead. Both are very good schools. Abel Smith has a new head, let's hope she can continue as successfully as her predecessor (s). Abel Smith is a bit more "traditional", strict-ish uniform standards, number order etc for forms, semi-compulsory reading ev...

Re: Hertford Secondary Schools
My daughter just started year 7 at Presdales (girls school), technically not Hertford, but Hertford is in the primary catchment area (I think), we're very happy and our daughter is thriving at it, an excellent school imo, though the homework could be harder, again imo - although I'm pretty sure thin...
