So I had a mini rant at the council over the weekend and they've now put a couple of links up on the
Hertford Town Council and
Go Hertford websites.
It also says that there will be some stuff on in Parliament Square, including some exercise bikes put on by Hartham Leisure Centre because that's exactly like riding a real bike, isn't it?

There's some harpists and and a display of wares from Highway Cycles. And that's yer lot.
No kids races
No extra food and drink
No displays from local cycling clubs
No extra bike racks for all the cycling fans
No extension to the farmers market which will finish at the usual time of 1pm.
No hill climb up Port Hill for anyone that fancies a go.
But then the council doesn't give a **** about cycling as a mode of transport, so why should I have expected them to give a **** about elite level racing.
At some point though some signs will go up on the A414 advising motorists that the road will be closed for a couple of hours on a Saturday lunchtime. Ironically, it will only be then that people may actually realise that a bike race is happening in town that day.
