...absolutely no problems on the Hertford Loop.
Overhead line problems at Welwyn Garden City resulted in 4 out of 6 trains between 0750 and 0850 being cancelled on.
The logic behind this has me baffled.

It's so annoying. Did the 07.50 or 08.05 run? I was aiming for the 08.20 this morning and that was cancelled. I cannot understand why a problem in Welwyn causes no trains to run from Hertford...I'm getting so tired of the service, its rare now that a train will run to the timetable.
It went to bad to worse on Tuesday, when one of the glass pannels (where you board the carriage) on the 18:50 to Hertford North blew out just before the bayford tunnel. Nothing hitting it, just decided it wanted to shatter everywhere. Luckily nobody was sitting by it. Also lucky it was there otherwise we would have been kicked off the train by the great FCC people!

Also annoying to be given 3 different excuses!
Whilst I sympathise with the chaos greated by such incidents, why do they feel the need to make up reasons and then contradict themselves?
Apparently today was due to (take your pick..!) delayed maintenance works, overhead line damage or signal failure !!!

I was on the late running 6:12 service this morning and further down the line the driver must have spotted someone sarcastically clapping as he pulled into Palmers Green; he mentioned the clapping and pointed out that the delays were the resulted of over running engineering works and were therefore not FCCs fault, but Network Rails. I wonder if we started with this as an isolated problem and then additional problems developed elsewhere on the line?
Re: 16 Jan morning rush hour delays caused by...
todays excuses were indeed baffling. Just seemed to be a variety of ways to blame network rail ( who to be fair are under-performing appallingly right now )
there is a depot at WGC i wonder do trains come out of there, go to stevenage then back down the loop? Probably not, but that could explain it.
Also thee's still a massive warning about delays expected until 15:00. yet there doesnt seem to be any delays. and it was fixed by 9am. so thats odd too.

Hertford North to Moorgate this morning
As at 07:13
07:16 On time
07:25 On time
07:33 On time
07:38 On time
07:50 Cancelled
07:54 Cancelled
08:07 On time (I bet that was a bit tight)
08:20 Cancelled
08:30 On time
08:50 Cancelled
09:17 On time
Why not cancel the 07:33 or 07:38 and re-instate the 07:50?

Re: 16 Jan morning rush hour delays caused by...
When I commuted from HN for 20 odd years there were two overwhelming factors for delays, one was trains were pulled to be used on WGC line to keep them appeased and two there were a lot of Railway Bigwigs who lived along the WGC line and to make sure the delays weren't as bad, they got all the trains and we had all the delays! I cannot think much has changed, it was the same with British Rail and West Anglia Great Northern.. so no surprise to me that FCC are playing up too.. only surprise is that its been so bad so many days/weeks at a time... little consolation to you guys...

And then you get this:
17:18 Moorgate to Stevenage due 18:14
More info
This train will be started from Finsbury Park.
This train will no longer call at Moorgate, Old Street, Essex Road, Highbury & Islington and Drayton Park.
This is due to overhead wire problems
I bet they don't see the irony.

lol JohnSmith that is pretty poor.
DQ its worth noting this is a relatively recent period of disruption, last 2-3 months have been spectacularly bad. I've been commuting myself for at least 5 years now and it's never been anything like this.
Mark prisk is taking networkrail on apparently and going to ask them what is going on. Lets hope he asks about trains around here, not those in devon )
