Seems like a right fag to park a car?
Re: The End of Pay & Display
Entering your reg and waving your card a couple of times? Seems like a doddle to me. Much easier than messing about with change and having to go back to your car to display the ticket. And of course not having to worry about getting back before the ticket expires.Darcy Sarto wrote:Seems like a right fag to park a car?
The new payment machines also accept Apple Pay and Android Pay.

I also think it is more of a hassle using the new method.
Having to enter your reg no and then use your card and then come back to pay station and use your card again. What if you enter the reg number wrong? I was in a car park recently with similar method but we had swapped cars and I started to enter my usual reg number. Luckily I realised halfway through and did correct it.
And I like to pay cash for everything if possible as it works out easier to manage my budget for me (which you still can do as well)
I have to admit I like the Stevenage method (shock horror). Take a token on entry, park, do your shopping or whatever and then pay at pay station for however long you have parked. That seems a doddle to me.

Re: The End of Pay & Display
What a wasted opportunity. Why couldn't they have introduced a proper ANPR system like in WGC?
Re: The End of Pay & Display
"Only one 30 minute ticket per day"
Hmm, that is not an improvement for users and will cause no end of knock on problems!
Do we know if the T&Cs are the same for all car parks, i.e. London Road?

Re: The End of Pay & Display
i doubt the only 1 30 min ticket per day is across town, probably you can have 1 in london road, one in st. andrews etc etc
not sure why you'd ever do that, but i guess you could.
or maybe it is all super clever and intelligent now?

Re: The End of Pay & Display
If you where delivering to different businesses in different parts in the town it would make sense. Say 3 drops near St. Andrews Street car park, 4 drops near London Road CP... etc etc.codek2 wrote:i doubt the only 1 30 min ticket per day is across town, probably you can have 1 in london road, one in st. andrews etc etc

Re: The End of Pay & Display
Just hope there is a facility for those of us who prefer to pay with real money, I for one won't be entering card details and don't have a fancy phone! Looking at that photo it does seem to but pay in advance as it always has been you have to know how long you will be, so that's no improvement!

Yes - despite friend Steve's efforts to convince us otherwise I, for one, will be taking my carparkery elsewhere if I can.
