I've just received this letter - I'm not sure what Industrial estate is involved however would suspect Dicker Mill? Anyone know?

The exhibition is on Thursday 12th May at Methodist Church in Ware Rd - 1300-1900.

Hi Footfruit, I did wonder about that and even Foxholes but there are some big companies on both sites so didn't really think it would be viable; also for a residential home there is a lot of hill for any residents to negotiate so they would be dependent on the management to ferry them around. With the development around Mead Lane I thought Dicker Mill would be a natural extension plus it is a superb site apart from the current access issues.

They have an advert on page 8 of the Hertfordshire Mercury for the public exhibition which has a satellite/aerial view of the site in it. By looking at google maps and comparing the buildings it looks like it's the Caxton Hill area.

Thanks for that Sniffer - so it is the older units on Caxton Hill they are looking at. I'll have to remember to drop in and see the proposals next week.

I typed Hertford Industrial Estate in to Google Maps and it took me to Caxton Hill, where indeed most of the units are empty.

It should be noted that the industrial estate does not include Fluorocarbon and Stephen Austin, who both own their sites outright.

The letter I got has the same text but also had a map of Caxton Hill on it.

I assumme "potential care home" is like "potential hotel"? ;)

Anyone been to the public exhibition of the residential development and care home (itchy beard) today? I'm going to try and make it later but very pushed for time.

I went around 5pm. It was very well attended when I was there.

The exhibition appears to be more about the principle rather than firm details. They intend to submit an outline planning application in the Summer.
