Cross Road Footpath Replacement

Post by arty » Thu 01 May, 2014 10:59 am

When there are so many unfilled pot holes around Hertford, can anyone explain the logic behind replacing the footpath on Cross Road in Bengeo?

The road has been closed every day this week, so the four days work so far has probably been very expensive.

Surely the money would have been better spent on the road surfaces in the area?

I had the same thought......................did seem excessive for it to be such a major job when they resurface a whole road in a couple of hours.

They may be able to resurface the road in a day but have you seen the state of it? Beene Road towards Hertford North station will be exactly as it was before within the next few months. It seems that they cut corners and it will cost even more to resurface in the long run.

It's probably a thinly disguised experiment to see if it makes any difference to traffic elsewhere if you close the rat run for a week.

It didn't. Do it permanently (not necessarily at Cross Street - as discussed before).
