Dog rustling

Not sure if that is the official term, but we had an instance of someone paying undue attention to our pooch. Due to teh extremely suspicious nature of this we called Hertford Police who later advised that they had apprehended a "gentleman" regarding dogs. We can only assume that this is dog rustling - we are aware of a friends dog being maimed as it had a collar cut off (assumption being that it was going to be lifted).

Given the dog fighting that has ben reported in the local press all dog owners should be on their guard.
