Exhibition about change of plans for Panshanger Park

Post by codek2 » Wed 18 Mar, 2015 8:36 pm

On Monday 23rd LaFarge will be holding an exhibition at the white horse hotel in hertingfordbury about their planning application to restore phases F and H of panshanger park.

Whilst on the face of it this seems like a good idea - the friends of the park think otherwise, because it includes bringing material into the park - something that was previously explicitly excluded. And that involves 100k lorry movements over the next 8 years.

You can see their response here:

Also they have a peoples walk on 31st March where walkers will be able to access currently closed areas of the park.

We're very lucky to have such a spectacular grade II listed park on our doorstep - lets use it!

Reason: Added the word 'Park' to subject line, to distinguish from the former airfield or locale of Welwyn Garden City

Lafarge have failed dismally in their obligations to provide a park, something they agreed to 35 years ago. The Council too have been complacent in pursuing them to ensure that they meet their obligations.
