Re: Simon Balle All through school Ofsted report
I too would like to congratulate SBS with its Ofsted Report. However, I always think parents know their children and whether they will thrive in a larger school, better being educated in a single sex school environment etc, etc, etc. Ofsted is a good marker but other qualities of the schooling in re...

Re: Bircherley Green
With all the lovely innovative shops, premises and businesses in Hertford and we concede to.... A Premier Inn and a Beefeater ! WTF !!! I thought Hertford didn't want to become a "Clone Town" but really its quite an insult - are you really telling me that nobody else wanted to move into the space or...

Re: Former Bob Hill Motorcycles, Cowbridge
I am sure you are right, but when, and it will, crumble, burn or injure someone or property then its no good just ignoring the premises and saying you didn't know it was in such a state of disrepair.. I am astonished that Hertford Town Council hasn't been applying pressure, its a beautiful building ...

Re: Former Bob Hill Motorcycles, Cowbridge
With so many people needing housing, could not a change of use occur so that it could be used for ground and first floor flats/apartments? I hate seeing it empty and a sight for sore eyes as well as the fact I am surprised it hasn't been vandalised ! When are Councils elected to represent us, grow u...

Re: Beane Road/North Road cycling proposals
I currently regularly seem to share my pedestrian space with cyclists doing "wheelies" with no lights on.. somehow they and I have not yet collided.. but give it time ;) but seriously, speaking as someone who tries to cycle responsibly - its hard around Hertford to be able to keep safe from the lorr...

Made in Dagenham - New Production - Hertford Theatre
Hi all Well, its almost time for Hertford Dramatic & Operatic Society's next production at the Hertford Theatre of "Made in Dagenham"... a completely new musical portraying the events of the late 1960's when the Ford ladies at the Dagenham motor plant went on strike and gained equal pay for women at...

Re: Three cheers for Mark Prisk
When I worked in the NHS and for the Royal College of Nursing - I had responsibility for typing up the massive report on Nurses Pay to the Pay Review Body (I did this four years on the trot). Within the Public Sector it seemed unfair to me that Nurses (generally in the main women) were never, ever a...

Re: Three cheers for Mark Prisk
Its a lovely day in Hertford today and I am really dismayed by all the nasty comments on this thread to each other. I judge local MPs by what they do and the same with local councillors.. if they look after my perceived interests or things I need doing locally and help in any way - whatever their po...

Re: Carnival at the Castle.
I spend a good deal of my weekends in the Town Centre and didn't see a thing to do with this in terms of poster/flyer etc in any of the coffee shops to tell me about the event. I thought something may be happening, only because the McMullen's steam driven 1867 lorry was parked outside the Brewery ne...
