Re: The White Horse, Castle St.
Went back to this old haunt of mine for a quick pint last night. I quite liked the choice of one bar with Xmas decorations and one without (called "Bar Humbug" - hoho)!! Only a small selection of beers which is fair enough on a Monday - both the Adnams and the Butcombe were truly excellent, and I am...

Re: Website, etc for GN route from 14 September
I was impressed to see that they had taken the trouble to change the company logos on the ticket machines this morning. It was a shame that they didn't repair them at the same time, only 1 of 3 was working ! And the poor guy at the counter could do with some help - didn't they use to have 2 ticket d...

Hopefully the sign will soon be removed - like the new shop in Parliament Square!

Re: Ilvino St Andrews St
I have only been once, a bit spur of the moment on a Saturday afternoon, so not particularly busy when we arrived but full when we left. As Darcy Sarto said, they have a standard Italian menu, which proved very popular with all of my family group (aged from 16 to 70) The thing that stood out was the...

Re: Pot Holes Appearing Everywhere !
I agree - and it's particularly dangerous for cyclists in this wet weather.
You can't ride through puddles as they may actually be hiding potholes several inches deep
And it's not even got cold yet! The roads usually break up after it freezes, so things will only be getting worse.

Also annoying to be given 3 different excuses! Whilst I sympathise with the chaos greated by such incidents, why do they feel the need to make up reasons and then contradict themselves? Apparently today was due to (take your pick..!) delayed maintenance works, overhead line damage or signal failure ...

Re: Apple Mac repair
I would love to hear of a local Mac repairer, I have never found one, but would always prefer to support a local business. If you are handy with a screwdriver you can fix a lot of things yourself. I have done memory upgrades, HD replacements etc I would imagine a fan swap is also quite easy. Try htt...

Re: Christmas recycling and side waste
I'm delighted to report that everything I left out after Christmas was collected, whether in the new bins or the old recycling boxes. There was apparently a certain amount of grumbling along the lines of "we don't have to take that" etc, but it all went so I'm happy I did hear over Christmas of a re...

Re: Hertford North Disruption
I have successfully claimed under the FCC "Delay Repay" but I think it was for the 17th rather than the 12th There have been so many problems recently that I honestly can't remember which days were particularly bad ! I received a letter with credit vouchers to spend on future journeys. Although not ...
