Re: Is anything happening?
I sent my postal votes back a while ago, so any attempts to swing my vote for the locals would be wasted. Have had a few leaflets from Tories and labour. Lamentable choice. The big 2 or an Independent at local level. Big 2, Quislings or Greens at County. The Independent and Greens it was, anyone but...

Re: The White Horse, Castle St.
Looks to have reopened tonight (Saturday 27/10/2018). Quite a few folks in there as I strolled by. I really hope the next tenant has been given a fighting chance. Odds are massively against unfortunately. How did such a beautiful, happy, friendly pub become a financial charnel house? It really is di...

Not an engineer, but I think if it's an internal supporting wall (i.e. the wall extends up to the bedroom), then yes you'll need a supporting beam to hold the upper wall up. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who'll tell you the proper story and will be along soon.

Re: The White Horse, Castle St.
Jumped the gun there it seems. £19k is for the in goings. The rent is TBA. They assess the cut of your cloth and decide what it would take to bankrupt you within three years on previous form. Joking of course, your honour. https://www.fullers.co.uk/pubs/run-your-own-pub/find-a-tenancy/white-horse-he...

Thanks for the clarification, that makes far more sense. As for The Tumbleweed Arms.. who knows what's next.

Re: Restaurant/takeaway ideas
I am of course assuming this is the pub in Castle Street. I don't know of the food offered by the re-opened Hotel in Hertingfordbury. I had heard of the red card being shown to several regulars who politely enquired about the business plans. There may have been other justifiable cases, but the ones ...
