Lamentable choice. The big 2 or an Independent at local level. Big 2, Quislings or Greens at County.
You're a couple of years late for the County elections (or early depending on the viewpoint).

This year's elections are for the town and district councils.

Re: Is anything happening?

We've got local elections in under a week's time. And EU elections in under 4 weeks. Is anything happening in Hertford? I understand the local Tories are running a stall at today's market. I'm amazed anyone would stand as a Conservative POarty candidate given the current state of affairs. That said...

Re: Bengeo Gravel Extraction

Ah, Birchall Garden Suburb - 2550 homes south east of WGC (link: http://www.tarmac.com/birchall-garden-suburb). Not exactly between Hertford and WGC to my mind, but that's probably ...

Re: Bengeo Gravel Extraction

isn't the development being planned in between welwyn and hertford green belt? And that one is huge. I'm not sure that green belt counts for much any more. Sure there'll be protests, but at the end of the day the houses are needed somewhere. I'm not sure which "huge" development between Welwyn and ...

Re: Bengeo Gravel Extraction

I think Smudger means that n most cases, when they've extracted all the aggregates they can from a quarry, it gets landscaped and returned to nature in the form of parkland/wetlands etc. Because people campaigned to stop it, the obvious alternative to a quarry will be a nice new housing estate I'm ...

Well done to the stop Bengeo Quarry campaigners.
They've stopped a quarry that would have been a public park in 20 years time.
Now there will be houses forever.

Didn't put that in the leaflets did they
You're going to have to explain that one to me

Re: Bircherley Green

Have we any further information on what is happening to Bircherly Green? Last rumour I heard was that there is now no longer going to be an hotel, but rumour does not say what will be in it’s place. Also I have wondered why they closed the multi story car park so promptly when I think it is still t...
