Re: Hertford traffic chaos
I will put up with a certain amount of sitting in traffic for “essential gas works” if it stops the mains blowing up and killing people but.... Can we somehow the eradicate the peculiarly British practice of deliberately lengthening queues in the mistaken belief that the protocol is to get in lane e...

Re: Local News Pilot
Definitely worth a try. Can only be better than the paradoxically turgid, pedestrian but sometimes infantile attempts of the current failing organ. Will Ruffles be on the editorial board? - no-one knows more about Hertford than he does. Weekly sporting contributions from HFC, HRFC, HCC, the Hockey C...

Re: Community Charge 2018/19
I see that “Police Officers and Staff” get an increase of 3%. “PCC Commissioning” (whatever that is) gets an increase of 30%. We’re paying this buffoon an extra £1,000,000 for what exactly?

Re: Planning permission for a new shed?
Pretty sure you don’t (but a short call to the council will resolve that). If your shed erection skills are anything like mine it can’t be classed as a permanent structure anyway.....

Re: North & East Herts Waste Consultation Survey
Some consistency in what is collected with what and when would be more "encouraging" than giving me two more bins to accommodate and keep clean (even if they are to be collected weekly). I want to recycle but my I am frustrated by the lack of a consistent process across local authorities and, over t...

Re: North & East Herts Waste Consultation Survey
http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/east-herts-councillors-vote-down-backward-step-garden-waste-charge/story-30532849-detail/story.html Some good news but..... “Weekly food waste collection” implies we will no longer be putting food waste in the brown bin (ref: home grown apples story). Are we to ...

What is a Car Club - some sort of parking space share scheme - or don’t we ever talk about Car Club?

Re: Best Indian Restaurant
Would agree with the comments so far ref Ginger. Haven't been to Shahenshah for ages as previously disappointed but things can change. Tikka Cottage was similarly on our "off" list but recently appeared on Just Eat so tried it last weekend and had an excellent tasty (if a little sweet) experience. I...

Re: "Hertford & Ware" Mercury
As I have just told HM via their fb page regarding the "post apocalyptic litter" article and their inept response to criticism of it: "Hertfordshire Mercury your reply to your readership's concern over this sensationalist, negative (Daily Fail style) reporting acutely demonstrates your utter contemp...

Re: New Wine Shop
Thanks for the offer but I can get a reasonable supply at French prices and, as you say, it's the duty that makes it uneconomical to import commercially. It's nice but not nice enough to pay that much.....
