Bus service withdrawal
So it appears that the 424 bus service to Harlow is being completely withdrawn from 20th. April although this has not been reported by Intalink. Hardly surprising as the writing was on the wall after the reduction in services several months ago. Arriva appear to have won the battle, lets hope they m...

Bircherley Green Open space
So are they going to pave over or turf the new town square at Bircherley Green. I cant ever see a Premier Inn being built there with all the delays. Would be nice to have it grassed over with a few seats and trees. Maybe we could even have some toilets and a bus waiting shelter if we are lucky.

Re: Maidenhead Street
Interesting to see Maidenhead Street today and the ongoing 'improvements'. All the old paving being removed and looks as though it is being scrapped. New pretty grey paving being laid but can someone tell me how this is an improvement, just seems creating havoc and wasting money. Engine running on a...

Re: Bircherley Green
Now that demolition has actually started, can anyone say for certain what is happening about the bus station. I gather that the bus station will be retained but what about the interim period whilst demolition and new building is going on, probably several years.

Re: Bircherley Green
What a depressing place those boarded up black windows make, just hope it isn't too much longer before something gets moving. Presume they are waiting for leases on Superdrug, Boots and New Look to expire first. What actually is going to happen to the bus station when work starts.
Re: Aldi
Interesting to read the latest Mercury report on the proposed Aldi store on the present Which site. Much has been said about the car parking facilities that need to be available but what about those potential customers who, for one reason or another have to use public transport. So far as I am aware...

Poudstretcher
Is Poundstretcher in Maidenhead Street still open. When I walked by this morning it looked as thought it might be closed now.

Re: Hertfordshire Mercury
Only about 9000 circulation, amazing, it doesn't seem long ago that the figure was around 30,000. Can it survive?

Re: Bircherley Green
This year, next year, somtime in thé future then! Well I shall not bother, but go to Hoddesdon where they have a good selection of supermsrkets, excellent markets on both Wednesdays and Fridays and many other interesting shops. There are also some great town centre events put on by Broxbourne Councc...
