Having been part of a team that tried to convince the county councils that joint procurement would be beneficial and cost saving (for fire service uniforms via the LFB) all I can say is good luck, unfortunately many of them still enjoy meeting/lunches/dinners/etc. with the suppliers and others don't...

Removing free parking at CH will only see further congestion in nearby streets so I can't see how that will solve any problems? What they need to discourage is the school runs for localish children - cycling/walking to school taught me a lot and as well as pollution the kids are missing out on a lot...

Don't Ocado have a big depot at Hatfield just off the A1? The system sounds likes it operates similar to the fire service train that runs in the Channel Tunnel - its a great ride if you ever get the chance

Are we going to get a podium down there to view the flying pigs too? If its left open then people will use it all day long and from either end as they are at the moment - the only way to stop it would be to put barriers up as before. The loss of so many parking spaces is shocking - people need short...

Having just walked past the holes are all filled in and the work appears to have finished so hopefully the cones will be gone by Monday morning

Well said Darcy it does appear to be a particularly British trait! Having just driven past the works I've seen the plastic pipe going into the hole so hopefully they'll get it fixed on time or Monday will be worse
