I have to say that I love the look and feel of the new forum and it works much faster now.

My only challenge is that the requirement for recommenders to have 10 or more posts had led to a load of specious posts that have ruined the quality of contributions here. My sense is that activity on the site is much reduced and that a vibrant, entertaining source of information has taken a bit of a step backwards. I'd love to see the Nov/Dec/Jan usage stats.

My approach would be far more open and focus on blatant abuse rather than putting everyone through aggro....it's also a pity the forum doesn't appear to have the same level of governance in place where it really matters in relation to to some pretty questionable posts regarding people of different faiths.

It's not against the forum rules to hold views that might offend other people. :)

We have now ported the database for the old forum and strung together some simple pages to allow access:
