Last year, we had a dismal experience trying to find a person to sand the parquet floor in our hall. The first person that came was a total disaster, then another one (recommended to us) came and attempted to put right the mess left by the first chap. The saga never ended because stupidly I lost the contact details of the second chap, and there are still problems with the floor.
Anyway, now we have another sanding job to be done on a different floor. This time I am going to make quite sure I get a full set of recommendations! So I look forward to seeing responses.....

Hertford Flooring would always get my vote. Not the cheapest on paper, however their workmanship is second to none.
