This is not strictly a Hertford issue, but the town - specifically the A414 - may be impacted if it goes ahead.

There are plans for 2500 new homes to be built on Green Belt land 3 miles west of Hertford, adjoining Welwyn Garden City. The site is next to the A414 between the junction with Panshanger Lane and Mitchell's Depot. It would also share a northern boundary with any development on the old Panshanger Aerodrome.

Their spiel has lots of woolly get-out phrases like 'potential for' which makes me think that should it ever happen it won't bear much resemblance to the current plan.

Also this has been on the cards for at least a year now, more like two. It's not new.

I find it very interesting they're building around the outside of a very large site leaving the middle empty (for more houses in the future)
