Just read on another site that the go live date is currently planned for 17 February. Can't say that I've seen anything at Hertford North nor on the GN twitter feed about it.

I don't think it will be that quick. The consultation on extending Pay as You Go was only launched today.

I can't be the only occasional user who exclusively goes from Hertford East now due to the ease of travel.

They have already committed to HFN being in the pay as you go area.
This is in the document you linked to.
Also note it was committed to towards the end of last year.

TfL on twitter reckon Feb 17 is the official go live date, though they said that it’s of course subject to delays.
Oyster readers are at all stations nation (HFN will use the current “the key” readers).
So likely will be coming on Sunday!

This morning, Great Northern tweeted that it "should" be available from mid-March.

However, they also said that the new trains would be in service at the start of the year.

Don't hold your breath for either.

One day soon, they'll realise, making life easier for their customers to pay might be a good thing..

The TfL website is now showing Oyster fares from Hertford North:

https://tfl.gov.uk/fares/find-fares/tub ... tcmp=54716

It confirms mid-March.

Single fare from Hertford North to Moorgate is £8.50 (peak) and £5.80 (off peak). Return is double these fares.

Currently, single is £11.50 (peak) and £11.50 (off peak)
Returns are £18.00 (peak) and £12.30 (off peak)

So, if you travel in to London and only buy daily tickets then you will be better off. Hertford North doesn't yet appear on the travelcard prices page.
