V-22 Osprey

Flew over Hertford around 4.45pm. I've never seen (or heard!) one of those before.

Three Ospreys (yes, 3!) flew over the town earlier heading north - to Duxford I assume. A couple of interesting large helicopters followed about 20 minutes later.

Hi Steve, I saw them too - and very low so got a great view. I didn't see any markings on these ones at all - does anyone know if this is unusual?

This was the test run for Obama arriving on Thursday evening. The Ospreys are escorting Marine One and Two. Technically speaking they aren't called that until POTUS is onboard.

... and probably heading for Lakenheath where the Jumbo gets parked whenever the president visits Europe.

Ah right, the two "interesting helicopters" that followed were Marine One & Two.

The two green Sea Kings are what carries the President although not called Marine One until he's on board. Tomorrow night at about 9pm he's supposed to fly over.
