Plan to convert offices to flats

Wednesday 24 June 2020

A planning application has been submitted to convert Pimlico House in Gascoyne Way to residential use.

The application seeks to turn the existing offices in to ten 1-bed flats with 8 car parking spaces.

Hertford Town Council have objected to the plans, saying: "The Committee regret the loss of office space and employment in this town centre location. They felt that with only 8 parking spaces and no visitor parking this could be problematic. The Committee felt that more information could be provided regarding whether there is a Communal heating system and what provision for sustainability is proposed."

One of the last businesses to occupy the building was Fingerprints Design, which closed last year,. The building has since been advertised To Let.

The site is next to the Gates Ford car showroom, which has also been the subject of plans to replace employment land with residential properties.
