A police helicopter assisted officers when a car thief abandoned a vehicle in Waterdale following a pursuit that started in Enfield.
Officers of the Metropolitan police attempted to stop the vehicle on Carterhatch Lane, Enfield, as it appeared not to have rear lights switched on. The driver did not stop for officers, who then pursued the vehicle, assisted by the police helicopter.
The driver eventually abandoned the vehicle in Waterdale, Hertford, and made off on foot.
A 22-year-old man was later found nearby hiding in bushes and arrested for failing to stop, dangerous driving and taking and driving away. He was taken to hospital as a precaution before being discharged into custody.
