Work on improving Maidenhead Street and Bull Plain restarts on Monday after a two month break.
Bull Plain will be closed for a number of weeks whilst new granite paving is laid in the main carriageway and trees are planted adjacent to Hinds. All parking will be removed, with the exception of three parking spaces outside Popworld. The principal objective is to reduce the amount of traffic created by vehicles unsuccessfully searching for a parking space at Bull Plain. Bull Plain is the sole access to Folly Island and turning movements in this street can be obstructive to other users.
Access to Maidenhead Street will be restricted, with gates proposed at either end with access only allowed before 10am or after 5:30pm. A loading bay at the junction with Bull Plain will be provided.
