Friday 9 August 2019

There's just one week left to enter the town council's annual photography competition, with 13 winners having their work featured in next year's town council calendar.

Thye council are looking for a variety of images to cover all seasons. Images must be of Hertford and could be of the parks and gardens, the town’s four rivers, historic landmarks, events taking place or something else that the eye of the beholder sees interest and beauty in.

Photographs can be as creative as you wish, but must be in landscape format.
To enter, simply send an email with up to three high resolution photograph to tic@hertford.gov.uk along with your name, address, telephone number, and where in Hertford it was taken.
Successful applicants will be presented a complimentary calendar and certificate by the Mayor of Hertford at the calendar launch ceremony at Hertford Castle on 13th October 2019.
The Chairman of the Development and Leisure Committee, Cllr Jane Sartin, said: "Hertford’s calendar provides an opportunity to showcase our town. We are looking for images that can be clearly identified as 'Hertford', a mix of both the most familiar buildings and places, and those that are not always highlighted.  As residents of the town we perhaps take for granted the wealth of interesting buildings, landscapes and activities, and this an opportunity to look more closely at what is around us."
Photographs must be submitted by the closing date of Friday 16th August 2019.
