Developer Chase New Homes have released a series of images showing their ideas for Bircherley Green.
The wharf influenced design features a community square and plenty of retail. Chase have said they want to create a sustainable destination shopping and leisure experience.
A public exhibition of the plans is expected in the coming weeks, ahead of a detailed planning application in December.
The plans are expected to feature an increased number of residential properties.
Whilst the shopping centre element of the plans are a new concept, the car park and bus station proposals are much in line with what was proposed by the former owner and their developer Wrenbridge. The car park will include 40 spaces for the residential component of the project.
Plans for a hotel on the corner of Railway Street and Bircherley Street look set to be unchanged, although there has been no official confirmation from either Chase or Premier Inns.
If the proposals are approved by the District Council, Chase New Homes hope to start building as soon as possible in 2020.
Plans for the redevelopment of Bircherley Green were first floated in 2014 when owners Diageo Pension Trust Ltd held an exhibition featuring an anchor food store and surface parking next to the river. The plans were not well received and Diageo went back to the drawing board, coming back with new proposals featuring a hotel and redesigned shopping centre. Despite eventually getting planning permission, Diageo abandoned the project and sold the site in the summer.
