The former Post Office in Fore Street could become a bar if plans submitted to the District Council are given the go-ahead.
The application proposes a new up market bar aimed at an older clientele with low level music, premium drinks, craft ales, coffee and cocktails. The Plans also include a rear garden to be used as a garden/smoking area.
Hertford Town Council have raised no concerns about the proposals. However, nearby businesses have raised objections, including the neighbouring hotel, who have rooms immediately above the proposed bar.
The premises were vacated two years ago when the post office relocated to Maidenhead Street.
