Yellow Lines on Warren Park Road
Has anyone else noticed the effect of these on Cross Road at school run time?

If they are anything like the yellow lines on Sele Farm then the effect will be nil

What I've noticed is that there appears to be less traffic on Byde Street in the morning - and I wonder if it is because the Duncombe School parents are having to park on Cross Road now, which is causing havoc on Cross Road and putting rat runners off. Or perhaps more of the Duncombe parents are walking or using an alternative route to Byde Street because they can no longer park as close to the school. Trying to get in or out of Cross Road at 3.45 is chaos now, in fact positively dangerous if you get stuck with your rear on Port Hill. Today there were cars parked both sides of Cross Road.

I wondered why Cross Road is so busy - total nightmare around there at the moment what with the crap parking outside the coop too..

Surely you can't expect posh children to walk to their primary school?
There are dangerous roads to consider - they might get run over by one of those 4x4 things doing the school run [;)]
Sometimes I think that the school run causes more traffic problems than the people driving to work.

This explains all the extra cars heading down The Avenue and Elton Road this week - obviously all avoiding Cross Road.

Many of the children going to Duncombe live quite some distance away, my daughter has friends who come from Standon, Welwyn, Braughing, Kimpton a bit too far away to pop your primary school aged child on the bus. Also the working mens club used to be made available to parents for parking but that facility has been withdrawn.
