Wetherspoons
Does anyone know if we are any closer to finally getting a Wetherspoons in Hertford? I emailed their Customer Service dept a few months back asking what the situation was and was told that it would open as a Lloyds #1 bar (so more like Baroosh than your normal Wetherspoons pub) and that it should be open by the end of 2005. That's obviously not teh case.
Are they still rangling about the public toilets? Surely nobody uses them anyway (apart from homeless folk) so they could just demolish them and open the place!

Oh, and apologies if I put this in the wrong location. I did a search for Wetherspoons and it didnt return a relavant thread [:D]

Yes
Last week in the Mercury a Witherspoon spokesman was quoted as saying that they were waiting for the situation regarding the toilets to 'bottom out'.[:I]
The smart money is still on them selling the site to someone else for development. On the other hand a contact of mine in Highways saw some plans involving the pavements outside the proposed site. Not so sure how old they were but most planning permissions have a five year shelf life so we wait for JDW to make a move.
Last time I tried searching I found something under 'witherspoons'.
