Mexican Restaurant
Dobbin is desparate to find a decent Mexican restaurant. Can anyone help? I have been told about Chiquitos in Enfield but that is part of chain like Pizza Hut is. Any other suggestions please??

Chiquitos in Enfield closed down a while ago - it is now a Krispy Kreme Doughnuts!

The Chiquitos in Aylesbury is now a Pizza Hut!

New Mexico in Sawbridgeworth is a great independent. Try that.
Its a shame the two Mexicans in Hertford failed. I guess people only want pizza and pasta and indian around here.

Which two Mexicans in Hertford? I assume you mean The Hooden Horse Too.......but what was the other?

Hertford had a great mexican for about a year. About 1995 at a guess. It was where Lussmans is now, before cafe pasta came along. They did a fab chimichanga!
I think it was a little early for mexican food in the UK. It was never very busy.
Shame.

Thanks Michelle - will look that one up. And thanks Jackanapes - will look into that one too.
By the way, the request was "Where is there a good Mexican restaurant", not "Where did there used to be a Mexican restaurant". If they are closed we cannot eat there.
TGIF's all serve plastic, conveyor belt food prepared and portion controlled by an off site manufacturer. Sorry we will not be boosting your shares value Vic!

I'd second that one, Skanky - went there last Saturday, it's absolutely fantastic and very reasonably priced considering it's in the west end.

Les Rendezvous have a tapas evening on Wednesdays. Been meaning to go for ages but things get in the way. We've eaten there on weekends and find the food to be of a very good standard so imagine their tapas would be just as good.
Not quite a mexican though... sorry.
