Absolute gem of a place. As another poster has mentioned.........if you want one nail then they will sell you one nail....... Personally I want an excuse to buy some of the scary axes in the window. [}:)]

Botsfords seems to be under new ownership - I guess it's no longer owned by a Botsford? I've had my eye on one of those axes for a while [}:)] although my wife thinks, inexplicably in my opinion, that owning one is wholly unnecessary [:(]

I *think* it's now run by the sons (still Botsfords) after the father died recently.

my husband went into botsfords for a screwdriver- he was asked whether he wanted 'a cheap one or an expensive one' - that's getting straight to the point! No mucking around.

Love this place but were a bit shocked recently when we went in to ask for a fruit picker and (shock) they didn't have one....did'nt stock em either.

A bit past my bedtime but as said previously Stuart has given up retail to concentrate on the property side of business. Introduced me to new owener who appears to be a locksmith by trade and has no desire to change the style of the shop.
