From Monday there will be cameras registering number plates at Cross Road, Tower Road and Beane Road. Possibly also at entrance to The Avenue. This is not so that rat runners can be prosecuted, it's just data collection to get an idea of how many people are rat running.

Why record registrations no.s? Why not place cameras side on if numbers of vehicles is the data required. Sounds Big brotherish to me?

I fear this data could be used by vigilante residents (remember the phantom car stickers) if it fell into the wrong hands.

I don't think residents of Bengeo will worry in the slightest. Anyone else shouldn't be there, unless they have right of access.

Apologies.[|)] I was unaware or the 'access only' status and had just been reading the old thread re West St which is obviously enforced. Whoever is organising the photography can continue with Jimbo's blessing... unless of course it is a breach of human rights?[;)]

The real problem is that there is No easy access from Hertford North Station (and beyond) to the North of Ware (and beyond). All the routes involve either a long detour or a traffic jam and probably both especially at rush hour.

People driving through Bengeo is the knock-on problem of the reality that there is no easy route through.

Can anyone give me any information on the situation regarding the "Rat Run", as I viewed a house last night on Nelson Street that I am very interested in.
