Charvills - Gone into Administration
Very sad to read that Charvills has gone under. I personally don't hold out much hope to them being resucued as the car market is so competetive.
It does seem that medium size companies are really struggling in the current climate. I'd wager that if you were asked a year ago which big local companies wouldn't be trading, you'd have struggled to pick Pearce Bakeries and Charvill.
Hopefuly the 100 or so staff can quickly find alternative employment before christmas.

Vauxhall have already removed them from their list of dealers. Looks like us Vauxhall owners will have to go to Welwyn, Knebworth or Waltham Cross.

Who left the lights on. Was it some electricity employee that now has to go miles to get his car serviced. The signs on the outside and a few display lights have been on inside for at least the last couple of nights.

Possibly for security reasons. Darkened buildings are more attractive to vandals, thieves and others assorted crims.

See your point, but lit, empty buildings with people obviously realising what has happened.

It is sad but as someone who was looking for a 2nd hand car last summer i found they didn't help themselves. By the same thinking Waters will be the next to go.
