Men's Fashion
Hertford needs more mens stores!
Roberto Gerrards is ok, but they never have a lot in and their mark-up is similar 2 catalogue prices.
Yates is more stylish yet way more overpriced. Why do these ladies shops keep opening in hertford?! Wat r we fella's supposed 2 wear?

I completely agree. Apart from the last line that is, can't comment on that I'm afraid. There is a shop down the end of Maidenhead Street, but nowhere else as far as I can think.

There are not many mens clothes shops.............Yates, Roberto Gerards, Drury/Cole Brothers (can't remember the name!), the place in Maidenhead Street..............errr..............Edinburgh Woolen Mill?
Perhaps they don't open because there is no market and little profit.
I think it's driven by the market. Women shop for clothes more than men.

Roberto Gerrards is very reasonably priced and if there is something you need, Rob will order it in for you. He also now has a suit department downstairs. If you try on a pair of jeans and they are too long, he will get them altered for an additional £7/£8. If you don't ask, you don't get in my humble opinion.

The problem lies in Hertford being a commuter town, and as a result, people tend to do their clothes shopping in london where there is more choice and competition (therefore cheaper than Hertford). I've been in to Roberto's once and never really been back.

Hertford also needs more Womens stores. In my opinion, if you are anything over a size 12, you only have 2 options, New Look and Matalan. While I have purchased a few items from both these shops, they are full of cheap throwaway fashion. Thats fine for some people but we need a good quality (and unisex!) shop like NEXT or River Island. With M&S coming (OOhh I am so excited that will save me a weekly trip to WGC!!!) I hope it makes more retailers of this sort come to town.
If you are under a size 12, there are quite a few more options. However, all these are overpriced with small selections and that is why I do the majority of my clothes shopping online or in London.
A NEXT would benefit both men and women!

Yes I know, I just meant that the M&S brand coming here might tempt other similar high street names here to, once we get one good one, we might get more!!
