Another bright idea that needs more thinking
The council has recently carried out some works on Fleming Crescent & Windsor Drive on Sele Farm - where the shops are.
Someone thought it would be a good idea to reverse the traffic flow of Fleming Crescent. It is a one way road - traffic now enters via Windsor Drive rather than Tudor Way. They have put up two No Entry signs and painted NO ENTRY right across the entrance at the Post Office end.
The overall effect has been to turn Fleming Crescent into a two-way road as loads of drivers haven't noticed the new signs.
Also, they painted double yellows on the roads around the shops. People park on these which means that Tudor Way gets really congested.
We had a situation today where a lorry was blocking the road,
Without a regular visit from the "parking attendants", the double yellows are a waste of time (and money).
Maybe reversing the traffic flow was a good idea but without the support, it's rubbish.

But doesn't that bugger up all the parking spaces too? I thought they were angled towards Tudor Way...

My other half got trapped today by a lorry that had stopped in the middle of Tudor Way, someone who had mistakenly driven into Fleming Crescent the wrong way and tried to reverse out and a taxi who mounted the footpath and parked his car on the footpath next to the post office!
Think I'll use Bramfield Road for the foreseeable future.

Yes another woman drove into Tudor Way as I was leaving for work - she seemed confused that Fleming Crescent was No Entry.
As usual the rude-boy escort was parked on the double yellow lines too.
Nice to see that our expensive traffic wardens still only patrol areas that yield the maximum revenue and not the areas that have parking problems!
PS has anybody seen a traffic warden anywhere near Sele Farm?
yet I can guarantee that there is always one in Bircherley Green car park (between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday only).

It also might have helped if there was a sign at the entrance to Tudor Way sayng "New Road Layout - Shops this way" or something similar - but then again some of the people that drive to the shops are so lazy they couln't be bothered to read the sign anyway.

I drove in the wrong way last night and was just about to berate someone for driving in what I thought was the wrong way, when I noticed all the arrows on the road had changed direction!!!!

I don't know these lower bengoites coming up to the shops in Sele Farm - perhaps we will have to issue stickers so that only Sele Farm residents can drive the wrong way down Fleming Crescent.
