I'm sure there are one or two of you that have to walk under the bridge at Hertford North twice a day like me. And you are, no doubt, aware of the considerable amount of pigeon poo on the footpath. There was a letter from Peter Ruffles in the Mercury a few weeks ago saying that Network Rail are going to do something about it. Well, after a few weeks of absolutely no actvity I thought I would contact the council to see why the footpath hasn't been cleaned for several months. My first two e-mails were ignored. However, when I sent a third saying that maybe I should write to the Mercury, all of a sudden my inbox is overflowing and action has been promised. So, if you ever want to get something done, threaten to write to the Mercury because it's worked twice for me this week. Incidentally, the council washes the footpath on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. I would guess that that is Monday 16 January, Wednesday 22 February and Friday 12 March because they've not done it for a few months now.
