24 hour petrol
got caught short the other night and realised i had no idea about closing times for a10 station. anyone know? also esso? where is nearest late night station?

Your choices around here are:
Tesco's at Hatfield
Sainsbury's at London Colney
BP at South Mimms Services (Bit expensive though)
BP at Park Street
BP at Breakspere Services (Hemel Hempstead A414)
They are all supposed to be 24 Hr, although on occasions we've stopped to fill up and found them closed, normally in the very early hours of the morning.

Which reminds me that here is also the Shell garage at Chislwell Green, just prior to the M25 Jct 21. Cheapest petrol around, U/L is 93.9p

The Esso's on teh A414 closes @ 10:30pm. Slightly off-topic, but I was workin gin Watford today and it's well cheap for fuel. 92.9 for unleaded or 94.9 for Diesel. Luckily I was almost empty so filled the tank to the brim and saved over £2. I've added it as a favourite on my SatNav now and I'm going to visit regularly. If you do big mileage, the saving adds up
