Hertford Rugby Football Club.
I went on Saturday with a couple of 5 year old boys.
£5 to get and when I asked about the boys I was told there was no charge.
It was a good atmosphere, despite the conditions, and the game was good to watch. Best of all was that I don't recall hearing any expletives or nastiness from the crowd. I feel far more comfortable taking a child to the rugby than the football for this very reason.
Oh..........and a 21-19 win for Hertford was a fitting end to the afternoon.

That's great to hear, maybe you can drag a few more people up with you next time. The program was a little bare this week due to printing problems and that fact that most of us were still asleep from the cricket season. It should be a little more worth the money by the next home fixture.

Definitely not you Victor as you seem a thoroughly nice chap but I have tried to speak to some of these guys on a couple of occasions to say how good Hertford are playing now and how good the facilities are now. Their response was "Not if it brings your sort up here" I asked what sort that was and I was met with a hrmph and they walked off with their nose in the air. I found it quite hostile when I played for the Black Horse against your 4th or 5ths as well.

Well I am very surprised regarding the reply to your comments and tbh appalled. Granted we do have "some" senior members at the club that I believe still think that rugby should be the same way it was in the dark ages. I believe that a certain Will Carling made a reference to these particular type once.
The majority of guys in club ties and blazers up there are more than willing to welcome new people to the club especially will to part with a few quid! With regards to your Black Horse playing days, certainly hostile on the pitch, but mostly welcoming off of it, especially as there has been a good few guys play for both teams in the past and in fact the Horse have used one of our pitches in the past for their home fixtures.
Hopefully next time you try to converse with someone up there you will not get the same response. Don't try me though, as I will be VEry VEry Drunk...................

I played at and have been watching at Hertford for more years than my knees would care to remember and though it can be a bit cliquey sometimes, I am very surprised by the reaction you got Wrapp. Can only assume that Hertford had just been spanked and he had had too much wine/beer.

Lydney at Hoe Lane this Saturday 3.00pm kick. Normally tends to be a nice hard game.

Assuming no rain, the Fandango Clan will be in attendance. I like Lydney games...normally a good punch up interspersed with some excellent rugby.
