Hearing the sound of a live band apparently coming from Hartham Common early this evening, I ventured out to discover an event called Commotion On The Common taking place, featuring a small stage, PA, double decker bus and mobile Police Station! Was anyone else aware of this event taking place? Or have I just been asleep for two weeks?

I have seen the posters, it said something about an event for 12-19 year olds or something like. The posters looked very professional! What was the event like? was it busy?

Maybe the authorities are providing entertainment for the teenage drinkers on the Common? ... let's hope the sandpits aren't soiled this time.

I was down at Hartham last night between 5.30 and 6.45pm. I'm not sure what the point of this event was. My kids were excited to see a bouncy assault course, but it was all big "kids" on it - aged 13 -14 yrs I'd say, and this was deflated at about 6 as it was getting a bit rowdy. There was probably about 100 teenagers there in total. There was a banner that said "YL in Herts" (whatever that means) and some kind of mobile dj with "Talk to Frank" splashed across it, so maybe it's a drugs awareness event?

Thought they sounded OK when they were warming up. Considered going when came home but quickly changed my mind and shut my windows to block out as much as poss. I totally believe in live music and have varied taste and am open minded to anything - but I am using the term Music for last night very loosely, just my opinion but if you were unaware of the event you may have thought it was a mass execution of inocent creatures! Sorry if I have offended...........
