Is it just me? Anytime before 8pm does Cannons need a multi-story car park. As more and more people move into Hertford this is surely going to get worse. Currently it overspills into Focus/Matalan, but the other day even this wasn't enough and I parked far down the Ware road. Has anyone else experienced this frustration - is there a solution except going late in the evening - which I tend do now!

I suspect that the car park is also used by those using Hertford East Station. When i've gone early on a weekday morning, the Gym is not overly busy, but the car park is.

certainly now need to drive there - gym users turning off Ware road slow things down for those drivers using Townshend St as a rat-run!

I don't know about needing a multi-storey car park, but they certainly need to do something about the amount of filth and litter that is liberally spread around their bins and in the parking bays. Environmental Health have already issued them with a clean it up or else notice, which they did until the novelty wore off. With regards to parking - I wonder where all the happy gymsters, Mercury employees and commuters are going to park when Matalan/Focus bring in their parking restrictions? Quite amusing really when the Baker Street car park is always empty, but then you have to pay to park there! [}:)]

Funnily enough, I didn't see the continuing efforts of the EA reported in the Mercury. Environmental Health are part of East Herts Council, and separate to the Environment Agency.

quote:No it isn't. Your reference to the EA agency (?) presumably means The Environment Agency (Agency) which deals with keeping air, land and water clean on a large scale. The Environmental Health people look after specific scenarios that directly may affect an individual or groups that use a particular premise for a service or purchase.

The Milton Residents Association at Newland Gardens have made complaints to the Environmental Health Dept at EHDC, who served notice to Cannons to clean up their bins area, the car park and the pathway. To be fair, Cannons originally complied with this order. Unfortunately things are back to normal with regards to rubbish on the ground around the bins and liberally spread over the car park. It's no wonder there's no room in the car park for all the rubbish that's in it. Plus there's every liklihod of getting bitten by one of the many rats that have been seen partying in the garbage. Whilst the morons who throw the litter around the car park probably don't possess the ability to be socially aware and considerate, and afterall - it's not littering their streets - it is incumbant on Cannons to make sure that they keep the area clean. Uh-huh, yep. Lots of gloss and glitter, lycra and fake-bake. As my Mammy always says "Tuppenny Books Without Pages." [V]
