ASK
I've read in the national press that the company that owns Pizza Express has just bought the ASK chain. I wonder if this means that one of them will close in Hertford.

I don't think ask or Express will close.
Pizza Express already owned Cafe Pasta I believe, so in the case of Hertford, I suppose they chose to close one and it was Cafe pasta rather than Ask.
I see Cafe Pasta has been replaced by another bland chain which serves "Med" food. That will be pasta again.....
oh for Lebonese or Mexican!

Andrei Lussmann only has one other eatery in Kensington, so it's hardly a "bland chain". Much of the produce is sourced locally according to the menu. Looks quite good.
I await Justin's judgement!

Andrei Lussmann left Pizza Express as Marketing Director 2 years ago to start his own restaurant/s.
At this point its just the 1 in West Ken but the model and pricing is designed to be rolled out as a chain going forward.
I think it is still a very welcome addition to the town though, at this point in its cycle.

went there yesterday afternoon. our meal came literally 3 minutes after we ordered it. was very obviously microwaved to heat it up. we were in and out in 15 minutes - not exactly what i was hoping from this new restaurant. I know it was around 3pm, and not peak time, but even still... and the waitress had a dirty, scruffy top on... don't worry justin, you've not got any competition there..!!

hi all..am a new member and have to say i have been to lussmans twice since opening and was impressed by the food, atmosphere and the friendly staff in there...will certainly be going back... and the price was reasonable too!

I wanted it to be good, but the whole thing smacked of "Chain" mentality. Yet more pasta.
My food was not cooked properly either.
