Hey all Just thought I'd let you know that from the 30th of October the Hertford BP garage is closed for 10, yes, TEN! weeks. This is due to them refurbishing the forecourt and hopefully changing the ridiculous layout!! about bloody time.... Just wanted to let you know :) they had posters up on all the pumps mentioning it....

10 weeks!! That takes it well into January! So where to fill up the motor now? Esso on Hertingfordbury Road. Or that garage on Ware Road, Hoddesdon. Or the one at the end of Star Street (which was closed all day today by the way). I can't think of any others close to the Hertford town or on the outskirts. I wonder what effect this will have on traffic congestion, let alone the 'price watch' pledge. Watch the prices creep up from now on.

So the only petrol station in Hertford will be the Esso on the Hertfingfordbury Road! I wonder whether the police will monitor the situation outside on the dual carriageway where queues are likely to form, with the greater likelihood of accidents. They might also consider repositioning their mobile speed camera where it makes more difference, that is on the lengty between West street and Which where cars regularly exceed the speed limit. Just a thought!

The service in the Esso garage is poor also. They now open at seven in the week and not half six so I wander round Hertford North to get my papers.

The chaos at the Esso yesterday morning was ridiculous! A huge Winnibago thing and a Transit van had completely blocked the forecourt and queue was out onto the dual carriageway. The man at the till said it has been chaos since the BP closed.

when the BP garage closed for an upgrade about 12 years ago (it was Mobil then)there were queues at the other local petrol stations for a few days.Once people get used to BP being closed,I think the queues will disappear from the Esso

Blimey! We drove past the remains of the BP garage this afternoon - it looked like the aftermath of The Somme. We wonder if it will be ready this side of Christmas? So far we've had no trouble with the Esso garage, but that could just be luck.
