Have I been correctly informed that there will be a quiz at The Ram this week. Is there a maximum number who can play in each team, and what time will it start?

Just picking up on quiz team names.... it's called fun and it's popular. Perhaps the 8million+ listeners to Terry Wogan get it wrong too, judging by the names of some of the Togs!. I'm glad this thread is here as the quiz was taking over the Open Mic thread and they are 2 separate events afterall.

Having been at The Ram last Thursday I can report that 4 teams took part. I made a point of recording the team names: Small Jaynus (2 members); M&M and Ram Raiders with 3 members each and on an astronomical note Spooky We Can See Uranus (2 members) who led until the final round when Ram Raiders took the competition. It was a good evening and I thoroughly enjoyed myself as did a long term friend of mine, Adrian, visiting for the week. I recognised the members of Spooky We Can See Uranus as the same artists appearing at the venue as Double Life, very talented indeed.

Judging from the past two posts the winners must have been really talented, is this the case or were they just lucky with the questions?

Unfortunately I couldn't attend the quiz on the 30th as I was visiting a friend outside of the area however I would be pleased to learn how well the quiz went this time.

I understand that The Ram's Christmas Quiz takes place this evening (8.30 start) and there a promised some devilishly clever rounds. I cannot attend, which is a great shame - as we won last time around - but I am on my sick bed with a child's illness (Chickenpox at 42 years old, I'm ashamed!) Good luck to the organisers as I know it does take some time to put these things together. I hope it is well attended.

There's nothing childish about chicken pox in adulthood. I had it last February and it's bloody miserable. I lived a week with a face like a contour map of the Himalaya. I felt rubbish at the time but learned to feel better of it when a doctor friend of mine mentioned the 10% mortality rate with the adult varicella-zoster virus. I probably shouldn't have mentioned that.
