Funny request but does anyone know a reputable builder/firm for a basement conversion ?

Not yet. But let me know if you find one, as we are hoping to have a semi-submerged extension next year!

Not a personal recommendation as such but the house we have recently moved into has a coverted, tanked and damp-proofed basement which has a 30 Year guarentee with Regency Preservation (http://www.regencypreservation.co.uk/). All I know is that they were prompt and helpful when I rang them up with a few queries at the time.
Maybe worth a look?
